The Importance of Restful Sleep

Getting sufficient sleep is not only vital for our mental and emotional wellbeing, but also for the prevention, management and treatment of numerous health conditions. Sleeping for less than eight hours per night on a regular basis has been associated with a weakened immune system, higher risk of obesity, heart disease, depression, diabetes, and even certain types of cancer. However, getting enough sleep is not always as straightforward as it sounds, particularly if we have a busy, stressful lifestyle, or are perhaps dealing with an emotionally challenging period in our lives. The great news is that simple adjustments to our nutrition, lifestyle and night-time routine can have a positive impact and help address sleep imbalances. Changing the way we approach sleep can help the body return to a more balanced state, allowing us to once again enjoy the feelings of vitality and rejuvenation associated with a restful night in bed.

Sharing Your Journey

We always appreciate when our guests tell us about their experience at Kamalaya. Below is a lovely quote from Sarah Walker from the UK who stayed with us last month.

“I arrived feeling tired and stressed and once again, I leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Kamalaya is an amazing, peaceful place with wonderful staff, food and facilities. Please never change this ethos.”

If you feel comfortable to share a short quote about your own unique journey at Kamalaya, we would love to hear from you! Email us.

New Awards for Kamalaya’s Co-Founders

The last few weeks have provided double cause for celebration at Kamalaya with both our founders receiving recognition for their individual contributions to the global wellness community. Firstly, ‘American Spa’ awarded Karina Stewart 'Owner & Operator of the Year' at the magazine’s Women in Wellness Awards 2018. We are also delighted to share that John Stewart received the Debra Simon Award for 'Leader in Furthering Mental Awareness' at this month’s Global Wellness Summit in Italy. Thank you very much to everyone who congratulated John and Karina and for your ongoing support. Read more here.
