An Enlivening Power is Nurturing the Universe and We Can Learn to Cooperate with It.

For thousands of years, saints and sages have clearly defined the real purpose of life and the practical means by which permanent well-being, happiness, and spiritual fulfillment can be experienced. This is what they have said:

1. Learn to live in accord with the fundamental principles (laws) of nature which determine its actions and processes.

Be on friendly terms with nature and all aspects of life. Attune your mind and awareness and conform your thoughts and actions to the inclinations and impulses of the intelligently directed Power that nurtures the universe.

Choose to live wisely, simply, naturally, wholesomely, and constructively.

Discover the role you are to play in the drama of life and play it well.

Develop and skillfully use your knowledge, talents, and abilities to maintain your well-being and to assist others to their highest good. This is the way of right (dharmic) living.

Dharma is
1) the inherent urge or influence of Consciousness in relationship to creation that upholds and maintains its processes;
2) a life-path which is most compatible with one’s temperament and abilities and which allows one to always be in harmonious accord with supportive influences. All of one’s actions are then constructive and have beneficial effects, and personal fulfillment and spiritual growth are more easily experienced.

Seven Lessons in Conscious Living
Lesson One
Retreat: Invest in Your Self

Each day we spend our lives paying attention to an endless stream of thoughts, feelings, and reactions, to our circumstances, relationships, and emerging events. Thus we remain deeply identified with the role we are playing in the drama of life, and sometimes suffering is the result.

From time to time it can be useful to set our role aside in order to experience the profound peace and renewed perspective that can result from spending time in a quiet environment that can be supportive of deep introspection and stillness. The retreat experience is an investment in our Self, paying dividends in soul awakening, attitude adjustment, and effective living.

Those attending retreats at CSA enjoy the benefits of a peaceful environment set in nature, with clean air & water, permeated by the enlightened consciousness of Mr. Davis and thousands of individuals visiting for spiritual refreshment and meditation practice since 1974.
