Although the lens rotation device on the OptiCentric® is widely used, up to now it had limitations when measuring systems consisting of several lenses. Our engineers could not accept this.
In this video, you can see the simple centration test of a multi-lens system on the rotation device with the lens diameter as reference axis.
MultiLens software
Centration measurement of objective lenses to a freely selectable reference axis
MultiLens is the software module for measuring the centration error of mounted objective lenses. The centration error of each individual optical surface and the total system centration are measured non-contact. With this information, the centration error of each individual lens and lens group can be determined, e.g. with respect to the barrel axis (but also any other freely selectable reference axis).

Patrik Langehanenberg received his doctorate in physics from the University of Münster in 2009. Since then he has been working for TRIOPTICS GmbH as R&D and product manager. Here he leads the research and development activities in the field of centration testing and optomechanical characterization of optical systems.
