EUROPARC Conference 2019
All you need to know...
Are you ready to put “Nature on your mind”?

From 24 to 27 September, Kemeri National Park in Latvia will host the 2019 EUROPARC Conference. As every year, this will be the key annual event for nature professionals in Europe: gathering international experts to discuss thematic issues related to nature management, cultural heritage conservation and sustainable development inside Protected Areas.

With 360 delegates from 38 countries attending, the Conference will focus on the role of nature in human health and also address the importance of nature in other aspects of life, such as politics, business, arts and landscape planning.

Entitled “Nature on your mind – understanding our values”, the Conference will highlight how Protected Areas and nature-based activities can maximise health benefits and social well-being. International experts will inspire delegates from multiple sectors and disciplines, bonded by the common principle that nature is of fundamental importance to their work, quality of life and business success. On the last day, a special initiative will be launched for the first time in Europe...

Outcomes of the Conference
Highlighting the role of nature in human health, we will join forces to seek for “green prescriptions” to address and integrate the role of nature in the following sectors:

Politics                              Business                                                     Health
Arts and Inspiration         Creation of Shapes and Environments

To make following of the program easier, follow the colour pattern which will be used throughout the conference!

Jūrmala is the biggest resort city in the Baltics, partly situated within Ķemeri National Park – the pioneer protected area in Latvia, awarded with the European Charter for sustainable tourism. The convenient geographical location, easy-to-reach venue, carefully selected high-level key note speakers, 14 workshops supported by thematically linked excursions to different protected areas in Latvia provide excellent circumstances for a fruitful, constructive, intense yet also creative Conference and an opportunity to return back home with very personal “green prescriptions” to follow in our own protected areas across Europe and beyond.
