CEO UPDATE
I am pleased to announce the launch of a series of AIS Industry Skills Forums that we will conduct in each state and territory during August to October. The forums will be a centrepiece of our consultation and engagement with industry stakeholders.
Information and intelligence gathered from the forums will assist the Industry Reference Committees that AIS supports to identify workforce skills priorities and develop next year’s IRC Skills Forecasts and Proposed Schedules of Work.

FUTURE-SKILLING OUR PEOPLE
AIS is kicking off a series of industry skills forums across the country to explore current and future skill needs. The forums will provide the opportunity to directly shape the skills and workforce priorities for your industry. This is your chance to: - Discuss barriers and opportunities to develop and recruit skilled employees – now and for the future
- Influence the development of world class qualifications
- Learn about current strategies targeting workforce development
- Reveal emerging skill needs for your industry
- Engage with industry leaders

SKILLS FORECASTS - CROSS SECTOR TRENDS
In preparing the 2018 Skills Forecast, the IRCs that AIS supports directed research and analysis of each industry to determine prevalent issues and future trends. This included the 2018 Skills Forecast Survey, which provided stakeholders with an opportunity to give direct feedback to their IRC. We also examined industry reports and more than thirty years of employment data for each industry.
