WHAT'S NEW
We have two new spaces we're excited to introduce to you! Our HIIT Studio and Mind Body Studio will open when we open our doors once again!

What is HIIT?
HIIT stands for High-Intensity Interval Training that consists of short bouts of high intensity exercises followed by short recovery periods. These workouts burn more calories in a short amount of time and also build muscle. HIIT can be beneficial to all ages and is easily modified to suit the individual participant.

What is the HIIT Studio?
Located where the Personal Wellness Center (PWC) was, this new space will have a circuit style HIIT workout posted that you can choose to follow on your own or at specific times throughout the day guided by an instructor. You will be able to use new TRX’s, HIIT cardio equipment, battle ropes, weighted balls and more, to achieve your fitness goals and build on your strength and cardio base. You can also create your own workout using the equipment in between the group circuits and exercise classes.

What is the Mind Body Studio?
Find room for stretching before or after your workouts in the new Mind Body Studio! We have refinished the floor in the Evanston Review Room and equipped it with yoga blocks, straps, and mats as well as a water feature to help you relax and recharge. In addition, we will have smaller group yoga, meditation, and Tai Chi in this room.
WHAT'S NEXT
McGaw YMCA's staff continue thinking of you in these uncertain times. We are excited for the day when we can welcome you back, however, we want to make absolutely certain we can do it in a manner that ensures the health and safety of all our members and staff. With that safety top of mind, we are developing new cleaning protocols in conjunction with local professionals, implementing recommended guidelines and redesigning activities to best serve you, our McGaw community. Several major factors will determine our reopen date including direction from our governor, local officials, the CDC, as well as our capacity to provide a safe environment. It is our hope, that at a minimum, we can offer some new activities in the coming weeks.

We will share more information with you in the coming weeks and we look forward to seeing you soon!
MEMBER UPDATE
We appreciate you keeping your membership active with us in order to help us sustain. Our goal is to reopen and serve you again as soon as possible. As a result of the closure, all memberships paid during this time will be treated as donations to the McGaw YMCA. As a result, these fees will be tax-deductible on your 2020 tax return. You will receive the receipt needed to claim these deductions by January 31, 2021 after the end of the calendar year.
